Founded in 1919 Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. Comprised of 1,200 Zonta Clubs with more than 31,000 members, "Zontians" are thriving in 66 countries and geographical areas around the world. Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents and support to local and international service projects, as well as scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta's mission and objectives.
Foundation funding is possible through the generous voluntary contributions from Zonta Clubs, Zontians and Friends of Zonta. Funds raised internationally support programs and services.
The Zonta Club of Nanaimo is a part of District 8.
Zonta Club of Nanaimo proudly supports students at Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific, one of thirteen United World Colleges established around the globe to increase understanding among people of the world through international education and community service.

ICCS is a registered non-profit society that helps people in crisis stabilize and then find the support, resources, and services they need to recover and be well. They work in cooperation with Provincial and Federal agencies, community groups, and faith-based organizations to develop housing options and programs that respect the needs of individuals with multiple challenges or concurrent disorders.Island Crisis Care Society offers emergency, supportive & transitioning housing for at risk women, children and youth in our community through the Samaritan House project.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s The Heart Truth campaign calls on women to put their own health first by assessing their risk for heart disease and stroke, talking to their doctor, and making heart healthy lifestyle choices in order to enjoy a long and healthy life with their loved ones.
